The LPN in the Cardiopulmonary Department is a vital member of the medical team who has the humbling task of caring for our patients. They will perform any combination of duties to assist in examining and treating patients. Performs clerical/secretarial duties. Performs medical procedures within the scope as dictated by established department clinical protocol. Documents information as needed in a timely manner.

LPN Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical or vocational nursing program

• Currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Missouri.

• Current CPR certification.

• Skill in taking vital signs, history, attention to detail, patient education and instruction, and multi-tasking.

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and the public.

• Ability to maintain quality control standards and maintain calm and effective reactions during emergency situations.

• Ability to communicate clearly, as well as understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.

• Assume responsibility for professional growth and development.

• Ability to learn and efficiently utilize diagnostic equipment, electronic systems for ordering, medical records, and other common computer programs.
